2013 Franzke Resonator Banjo - Mahogany Sunburst

Price: $2,500.00 USD

I built this banjo to have a similar look to the RB-7 and 12, but I did not want a top tension. I used the Art Deco style as inspiration, not trying to make a replica. Mahogany neck and resonator in an amber/reddish/brown sunburst with a nitro gloss finish. I hand cut all the shell inlays. The "bowties" have abalone diamonds at the points and the deco inlay in the headstock is a combination mother-of-pearl and abalone.

The pot is a Cox 3-ply maple rim and Cox Kentucky 5 tone ring fit by Adam Cox
Cox mahogany resonator with multi line ivoroid binding and multi thin line purfling rings
Katalox flat fretboard with white/black/ivoroid binding with side purfling that matches the multi line bindings on the resonator
Nickel hardware with Kershner style tailpiece
Select maple Kat Eyez bridge with pegged ebony top
Keith D-tuners on 2 and 3 and Keith standard tuners on 1 and 4
Comes with a new Crossrock hardshell case
Double action truss rod
Nickel silver medium frets
This banjo has been played very little and shows very little signs of wear, maybe the tiniest of dings in the neck finish if you look hard enough. Still looks almost new. I built it for myself as an artistic showpiece, but with top level parts and hardware, making it a premier banjo. It has been taken with me to trade shows and festivals but it's not been my daily player. I had it for sale locally and it sold, but the resonator was damaged when UPS dropped it. I replaced the resonator rather than repair it, so that is new, and I'm offering it at a reduced price.

The action is low and easy to play, and sounds like the professional grade banjo it is.
