Or best offer. 1927 Wm. L. Lange Super Orpheum tenor banjo, No. 1, serial 17079 stamped on the dowel stick. The Super Orpheum was Lange's premium line with a short production run (introduced 1924, succeeded by the Super Paramount around 1929), a step above the ordinary Orpheum models. Condition: straight neck, original calfskin head (stamped 'Union Brand Warranted' with a handwritten pencil signature underneath), original hard case, clean blonde multi-ply maple neck and resonator, shiny original hardware. Interior rim stamped 'PATENTED 724833' with the 'Made by Wm. L. Lange, New York / Orpheum' badge. 19-fret tenor, tuned CGDA. Includes a dozen string packets in the case.
