Cas Davey Custom 19 fret Open-back Tenor Banjo
Price: £1,500.00 GBP ($1,986.31 USD)
Selling a lovely banjo from my collection, custom-made for me by Cas Davey, luthier at Davey Mandolins in Cornwall, website here daveymandolins.co.uk/banjos/
It is only not being played as I have since come to favour playing resonator banjos, I also prefer a 17 fret scale these days. It is nonetheless a beautiful instrument that deserves to be enjoyed by a new owner. While it is a 19 fret banjo I had it built at about 20mm shorter than what has become standard, which may serve as a great in-between for desirable tone and playability.
It is in great condition; no marks on the woodwork that I can see. Only a speckle of what looks like oxidation on the tone ring under the head (see photo). There is no fret-ware. Currently set up GDAE tuning for Irish / Scottish trad.
Comes with a hard case which has never left the house. I would encourage the buyer to come and try the instrument, either visiting me at home or arranging to meet locally in Bristol, UK.
Pick up in Bristol, or happy for buyer to arrange courier for this item. If you need additional pictures or have any questions, don’t hesitate to get in touch.
