The larger 12" rim (standard Deering and Vega banjos all have 11" rims) gives you a beautiful fat, round tone and that perfect old-time clawhammer sound. We did a small customization and had Deering change the stain on the neck and body to the Dark Walnut stain you see on the Vega Vintage Star.
