Premium old-time clawhammer banjo w/o paying full retail plus tax.

This model was designed by Gold Tone’s own master shop luthier, Christus Pariso. Pariso spent over a decade hand-building, refining, and experimenting with the custom hardware and features of this specific open-back design before Gold Tone actually brought it into full factory production.

The High Moon sports many boutique high-end touches. It plays effortlessly and has a warm, punchy, traditional tone with plenty of volume.

Standard scale length: 26 & 3/16” (not the shorter A-scale version).

Factory-scooped finger board, perfect for playing over the neck to get that deep, bassy clawhammer clack.

12” multi-ply maple rim with a rolled brass flat bar tone ring for a rich, plucky sound.

Bone nut.

Premium planetary tuners.

Single-rod neck adjuster enclosed in a machine-turned wood dowel and 14 hooks mounted in spherical “pawn” shoes for maximum rim resonance.

Purchased August, 2024, from Gold Tone (so I’m the only owner).

5 string old time banjo, high moon model, crescent inlay, V-shape neck, custom dowel rod, custom scoop, Little Mountain armrest, 12” body. Includes really sweet tweed case!

Fyberskin head.

Walnut Little Mountain Armrest, gloss finish.

Railroad spikes installed at frets 7, 9, 10.

I’ll throw in the Gold Tone strap i purchased with banjo (shown in the photos).

Includes whatever “case candy” that came with the banjo.

Total I paid (including “accessories” and extra add-ons) was $1,391.97.

I have babied this instrument (like i do all my instruments). It is in excellent shape, like-new condition. The case is in perfect condition. I am not sure whether I’ve ever taken this instrument out of the house (except when i moved from one house to another). Maybe i have taken it out of the house once or twice, i can’t remember, but no more than that.

I really only played it for a bout a year; for the last year it’s just been sitting in the case. Always in smoke-free, climate controlled home.

I will shape it in and with all the original packing and packaging from Gold Tone.
