1929 Gibson Mastertone TB-3 / 5strg Conversion

Price: $3,500.00 USD

A 1929 Gibson TB-3 tenor banjo #9478-123 converted to a 5 string. This a pre-war archtop Mastertone that has a five string neck made by Steve Ryan of Grove City, Ohio. Steve also did the fabulous finish on the pot to match the neck and also installed new Planetary tuners. All numbers match and the pot is original except the arm guard which is vintage but I don't think it is pre-war. There is a small section of the flange missing as shown in the pics. This 96 year old banjo has that powerful pre-war sound of the older Mastertones and plays like a dream. Comes with a vintage Gibson case and the original tenor neck and case. Priced right!
