1999 Capek Scarab
Price: $2,000.00 USD
A very well made and fine sounding professional grade instrument crafted by Rosta Capek in the Czech Republic in 1999. Not sure what model this would be. The resonator and neck are mahogany, the peghead overlay and fretboard are ebony, the rim is traditional three ply maple.
I thought the peghead inlay was a hedgehog, but Blake Gilpin (Pigeontownbanjoworks), who has been kindly bailing me out all week answering some very niche banjo questions, informed me this model is sometimes called the Dung Beetle. A quick internet search confirmed he was not pulling my leg, as I would have never considered that name to be a possibility. Also thank you to another BHO member who pointed out this is also known as the Scarab.
Comes shipped in a flat top hardshell case. Thanks for looking and please reach out with any questions.
