The Deering Open back Goodtime banjo is the perfect entry level Banjo that sounds like far more expensive banjos!
Talk to any Deering owner! With the hard rock maple neck and pot, this Goodtime has the bright ring and tone you want to hear. While it can be played bluegrass style with picks, this instrument really shines as a clawhammer "old time" sound banjo. The banjo has a railroad spike at the seventh fret and comes with a strap and a Shubb capo (the best!)

Also included are fingerpicks, a bracket wrench for tightening the head,and a Deering Banjo maintenance manual containing specific instructions on how to adjust the coordinator rod, tailpiece and bridge adjustments, adjusting the 'action,' cleaning the banjo, plus other useful information. Sorry, there is no gig bag. Apart from some minor fret wear, everything is in fine shape.

I've loved playing this banjo for years. It's easy to play; it is very lightweight and portable and stays in tune nicely.
However, I recently became involved with the acoustic guitar and it's so challenging to me that I no longer pick up the banjo to play. Simple as that.
