This Banjo is a collectors dream come true. JD Crowe designed the tone ring to get a more mellow sound as he didn't like the bite that other other banjos offered. Gibson stopped making Banjos around 2010 and the Gibson Mastertone widely regarded as the industry standard for bluegrass, praised for their "dry," powerful, and "throaty" tone.
Comes with a strap and banjo head autographed by JD Crowe at a bluegrass festival in Hesperia California, and is considered to be among the best banjo pickers in the world. He autographed my banjo strap and head in 2004. Earl Scruggs was there too. I am old and can't play anymore and want to see to it that she will get the respect she deserves.
