Nechville Phantom Banjo (with Hoffee case)

This is a Custom 2012 Nechville Phantom banjo. I'm the second owner and got it in like-new condition last year. The original owner had it custom made directly from Nechville, but he barely played it and kept inside in a case in his home, out of the heat and cold. I really like this banjo and it sounds good - it's easy to customize the sound and change out the head, tone ring, bearings, resonator, etc. to get the sound you like.

The neck and resonator are curly maple. The fretboard is rosewood (I think cocobola), and the resonator is mohogony. I had Tom custom make the resonator, but I have the original maple one if you like that sharp sound. It has the full brass tone ring, and has a powerful sound and strong sustain.

It comes with a custom Hoffee Carbon case that was made for this banjo last year. The case has some scruff marks (see photos), but it's worth $1000 alone.

The banjo is in Austin, TX. You are welcome to come play it or buy it in person if you are in the area. I'll be here until August 17th if you want me to ship it. (You pay shipping costs.) After that, I'll be traveling so you would need to come to my brother's house in person to pick it up. Write or call if you have any questions. I really like this banjo - it plays better than any other banjo I've had and it has a good sound - it's just not for me.
