Description

In the 1970’s Japan was copying American Musical Instruments and in many cases making a better product. Some of these instruments are exceptional and have been a well kept secret in the world of Banjo. This is a high end Banjo from this period and is definitely a quality banjo.

This has a curly maple Resonator and a straight grain maple neck. The fretboard is rosewood and has a Flying Eagle inlay. The headstock is a DOUBLE CUT and also has some nice inlay work much like a Denver Belle. This also has white binding and checkerboard purfling which is classy, attractive and cool. The hardware is chrome and is all original including a one piece flange and a clamshell tailpiece.

This banjo is a copy of the Alvarez Denver Belle except the finish is blonde. This may have been made in the same factory as Alvarez because that was common at this time. This is a good quality instrument that is all original and in fantastic shape. This includes an original case.

Condition

This is in fantastic shape and has been professionally cleaned at the Banjo Warehouse. This has been disassembled and the metal has all been buffed and polished to a shine. The wood has been waxed to a shine as well. The fretboard has been cleaned and oiled. The frets look basically untouched with minimal (if any) wear. This was clearly lightly used. This has a 5th string capo already installed and this is set up and ready to go. The original case is in good shape. There is some minor wear to the case but it is still functional and in good shape.

Set Up

This also has been assembled and set up at the Banjo Warehouse. This has a new Remo frosted head which is set to 90. The bridge is a Grover and is set with correct intonation. The strings are new Huber Truetone .10’s and the action is set for fast playing and lots of tone. This banjo sounds fantastic and has been put together to also look sharp and play like butter.
