Old Rickett's Rim, New Neck
Price: $1,650.00 USD
This banjo has a new cherry three-piece neck with a dual-action truss rod, adjustable at the heel - remove the neck for adjustment. The fingerboard, headstock overlay, and heel cap are Ebony. The inlays are engraved select color mother of pearl. It has bone nuts and Peghed's brand geared tuners. The neck has a French polished finish. The neck was made by me. It's in very good condition, but it has been handled so there are a few minor marks on the back of the neck.
The 11” diameter nickel silver-clad rim was from a Rickett's banjo. The nickel-plated brass tension hoop is in fair condition - plating is missing in portions. It has nickel-plated steel hooks and nuts. The calfskin head is new.
The banjo is strung with nylon strings. The string notches in the nuts and bridge are “V” shaped so steel strings can be used with no modifications. The scale length is 26-5/16”. It has a 5/8" high bridge and the string action at the 12th fret is approximately 1/8". The neck is 1-1/4" wide at the nut and 1-7/8" at the rim.
