Lowered Price. For Sale - Janzinger Banjo
Price: $2,599.00 USD
I have lowered the price - Here we have for sale something that rarely comes up for sale - A banjo that was apparently made by John Janzinger. Having said that I cannot guarantee that John in fact made all or nearly all of this banjo. I would suspect he acquired readily available parts at whatever time this banjo was put together, (such as fqms, stewmac, etc.) I was drafted by a family to help get rid of quite a few instruments when (he was in fact a friend of mine) he passed away several years ago, and there's that. Anyway, the instrument appears to be maple, both resonator and neck, (again, as far as I can tell!) it is made to closely look like the style 3 of the 20's, though it does have concentric rings in the resonator. It has a fiddle headstock, with the proper "curly q's and diamonds" inlays that would have been used on the style 3 from the 20's; Mastertone block inlay at 21st fret. It has a flathead Janzinger 20 hole tone ring, with a full thickness rim. One piece flange, Presto style tailpiece, Gary Sosebee bridge, Pre - Epa Remo head. The frets have just a bit of wear and lot's of life left in them. A fifth string spike serves as the fifth string nut, and there is a capo / spike at A. Neck is in great shape. Includes what I believe is a early to mid 70's Gibson case, which is also in very nice shape. Bone nut. Double cood rods with long nut style lower rod. The banjo plays and sounds great. Of course if any buyer isn't totally happy and satisfied with it I will allow you to return it. If any further info or pics are needed just fire me off an email thru the hangout, or call numbers shown below. Thanks for looking and good luck! (case looks much better now than in the picture, I have cleaned it up)
