I am offering this terrific-sounding Rickard Maple Ridge open back banjo with a unique and gorgeous John Balch goatskin head. It has been my go-to banjo for its ease of play, simplicity of design, and quintessential funky Old-Time banjo tone. With its goatskin head and Dobson tone ring, it has the desired consummate “plunkitude”. It has a warm, deep, resonant 4th string, and a natural sweetness in the upper register.

The Romero compensated bridge, Ome strings, and the goatskin head are all definite upgrades that nudge the banjo’s innate pluckiness further to the dark side. It sounds great and I love it, but need the money. It will come in its top-shelf, TKL bump case, also in excellent condition. The original head will be included in the sale. A new banjo, with these upgrades, would cost over $2.2K.
