1932 Gibson Style 1 to Style 3 Conversion by Gary Price w/Video
Price: $4,999.00 USD
A few years ago this banjo was converted by Price Case builder and prewar Gibson banjo enthusiast Gary Price. This Style 1 F.O.N. 9548-30 started as a tenor and now has the look and feel of a late 30's style 3/75. The mahogany neck with Brazilian fret board was made by Gary Price and has the "Crowe" Style 75 inlay along with a great set of prewar Grover "pancake" tuners. The no-hole flathead tone ring was also made by Gary and sounds tremendous atop the prewar wood. Gary re-skinned the Style 1 resonator with mahogany and concentric rings for the classic 3/75 look. The flange is original to the banjo with slight "pull" along with the L-brackets, reso lugs, and thumb screws and all of the other hardware is modern. I've just been totally through this banjo and it's ready to go with a new heel fit from Steve Huber. The fret wear is minimal and 5th string spikes are installed. If you have any questions or desire more pictures, don't hesitate to ask. Thanks for looking!
