Selling this beautiful 1928 Vega Vegaphone DeLuxe. This banjo has definitely seen some playing throughout its nearly 100 year lifespan. Structurally it is sound with no glaring deficiencies. Cosmetically it could use some touching up (inlay; fingerboard & peghead, finish worn on back of neck, some plating tarnished, and resonator engraving worn).

This banjo has some of the most beautiful accents you will ever see on an instrument; gold plated/engraved flange and tension hoop, engraved pearl inlay, carved heel, and an abalone cap on rim). All of the parts appear to be original, except for maybe the head. The Oettinger tail-piece is missing two of its screws. Original case with some cosmetic damage and that 'vintage instrument' smell :).

I inherited this banjo from my great aunt a number of years ago, play 5 string, and have left this thing largely untouched. Hoping to put this out into the world and find a new owner who can fully appreciate the beauty of this instrument as a tenor. Offers entertained, let me know what you're thinkin.
