Gorgeous Wickland Tenor For Sale
Price: $1,400.00 USD
This banjo is the first tenor open back banjo Grant Wickland crafted, it was made in 2010.
The neck and block rim are of Bolivian Rosewood (Pau Ferro). It has a gold MOP butterfly on the peg head.
The 11" pot features a tension ring, hooks, nuts and ball shoes made of raw brass as is the Dobson tone ring, all of these were made by Bill Rickard. It comes with an integral tail hold for the strings which are drilled and tapped stainless steel screws. The bridge is compensated, the fret board is ebony and the neck heel, rim heel and peg head have MOP dots as well as Grant's signature MOP 'W' on the neck heel. It's a 23" scale neck bolted on with 1/4"/20 stainless threaded rod epoxied into tapped holes in the heel of the neck.
All of it is constructed with waterproof polyurethane Gorilla glue.
The tension rod is 1/2" brass drilled and tapped for both heel and tail bolt.
The finish is two coats of hand rubbed tung oil sealer.
Grant will not be making any more of these.
