SOLD1962 Epiphone EB-88 Flathead Gibson made
Price: $2,200.00 USD
1962 Epiphone EB-88 made in Kalamazoo by Gibson. Full thickness chocolate brown rim, early post-war Gibson 20 hole tone ring. In fact, this is one of the first several flathead banjos to be shipped by Gibson in the post war “bow tie” period.
This banjo offers the styling of an RB-100 with unique “parallelogram” inlays.
These are rare and IMHO a hidden gem in the banjo world. For about the cost of an RB-100 of the same vintage you can have an authentic Gibson-made flathead.
The playability is fantastic, frets are in good shape, and the sound is exactly what you would expect—full, loud, and dry. Tuners hold tune very well including the friction fifth string peg. Single coordinator rod holds up great as well.
All original except for the bridge. There is a tack for a fifth string capo it functions well but if you’d rather have a RR spike I’m sure it would be an easy fix.
Will ship in it’s original case with pink interior.
