Gitjo (banjo neck/guitar body) for sale - Custom Built
Price: $3,000.00 USD
This CB Gitjo is really a phenominal custom instrument in mint condition, like new and hardly played. It was built for me by highly respected Nashville luthier Chris Bozung, of CB guitars.
It is a 5 string banjo neck with a guitar body. Perfect for any 5 string banjo players wanting to get more of a guitar like sound for specific tunes. It sounds like one of the best guitars you’ll ever hear, but played like a banjo. The craftsmanship, tone woods, bracing, finish etc are all world class. I had Chris inlay some olive branches and celtic crosses on the neck along with
“Psalm 92:1 at the 15th fret (“It is good to praise the Lord and make music to your name,O most high”. The Peghead is inlaid with the Christian Ichtus (fish) symbol. It also has a wonderful sounding pickup installed which I believe is either a K and K or LR Baggs. Whichever one it is, it sounds great.
The Gitjo comes with an excellent hardshell case. It plays beautifully and sounds wonderful.
So why am I selling it? When I commissioned Chris to build it around 5 years ago. I was beginning to have some hand issues at the time. By the time the Gitjo was finished, the issues became more severe. I’ve since had to quit playing banjo entirely and this beautiful instrument has been sitting in the case at my house since then, having only been played a handful of times.
I also suggest you visit CB guitars website (above) to find out more about these great instruments. This Gitjo without the pickup installed costs $4000 brand new. I am asking for $3000 (firm) with the pickup and like new. This is truly a one of a kind instrument, first come first serve. To hear on youtube go to:
