1975 OME Gold Mogul Tenor
Price: $4,500.00 USD
Here is a gorgeous Gold Mogul Tenor. What can I say, just a lovely Instrument!
I am the second owner, and have owned this banjo for some time, although it is seldom played anymore. I would like for it to find a new home.
OME made a great instrument when they made this one. It is a a Tenor with a 22” scale length. It has 24 lugs. All of the parts are engraved and gold plated. Maple resonator & neck. Ebony fretboard with engraved inlay. The sound quality and volume is outstanding. Plenty of sustain. It is heavy, and weighs in at 9 lbs. 11 oz. The playability is effortless, and has the most minor of fret wear at all. Cosmetically, the banjo is very nice.
There are a few minor issues to mention that transpired prior to my acquisition. There is a small piece of wood that has been chipped on the back tip of head stock (see photo) Also, there is a gold bracket piece holding the loop end of strings on tailpiece? Not really sure of this solution? And there is also, one chrome bracket directly on the bass side next to neck.(See photo)
I could not find a serial #, but found an engraving on the bottom of rim, that reads “ 1975 LINK”. (See photo) This would have been just one year after the Gold Mogul was introduced in the OME 1974 Catalog.
Let me know if you have any questions, and Ill try my best to answer. Thank you for your interest.
I can also send more images upon request. Site only allows 10. Thanks
