Vintage Lyon and Healy 5 String Banjo, further reduction
Price: $500.00 USD
This Lyon & Healy banjo from the early 1900s is readily recognized by the typical Lyon & Healy headstock. It is not completely original due to its age. The violin style wood or bone pegs have been replaced with Period friction tuners. The nut is new, as is the 5th string pip. The head is a replacement, a High Crown Remo Fiberskyn, as is the bridge, a 5-string maple, 3-legged bridge with ebony top, 1/2" tall, is a replacement also.
The pot and neck are original to the instrument. The pot is a spunover rim pot,10 15/16, with its hardware including the through pot, two screw neck attachment, a twelve shoe, hook and nut tensioning system and original tailpiece have the usual patina for a century old banjo. Time has taken a bit of the “ebonizing” from inside the pot.The neck is 24 ˝ ‘scale and frailing scoop shows very little wear. It has the distinctive "boat heel." of these vintage instruments.Gig bag included
