Tranjo 8.0 travel banjo

This is the original Tranjo 8 in walnut. That's an 8"D Remo top-frosted head with a 1/4"D brass tone ring. Original 5th string spikes at the 7th, 9th, and 10th frets. The tuners are 16:1. A padded gig bag is included.

If you know what to do, disassembly or reassemble each takes about a minute.

A common issue on this original design was occasional slight sticking of the pulley wheels that reverse the direction of the strings at the tuners. I contacted the creator Sam Farris who told me what he had decided to install in their place instead. I found a set of those same ballbearing wheels, and that' what's on the instrument now. The original walnut wheels are included.

Extensive playing was only on a few trips. So, there's no fret wear.
