Orginal 1939 Gibson RB-00 5 String Banjo With HSC
Price: $3,999.00 USD
Here is more rare and really cool 1939 Gibson RB-00 5 string banjo. This banjo is nearly Factory original with the exception of a Remo USA head Snuffy Smith 5/8 bridge and new GHS JD Crowe Studio strings. This banjo is very lightweight and yet very great sounding and plenty of volume. The neck has the pre-war Gibson banjo feel to it and it has spikes done perfectly 7-10 frets. At one time it was sold Gruhn Guitars in Nashville, TN. I will attach a link to when it was listed on their website and the description. I do have a video available for sound sample It's completely ready to go, asking $3,999 cash and it does include a 1960s vintage hardshell case. Here's this description from Gruhns:
VG+++, rare pre-World War II five-string, original three-ply maple rim (e.g., averages .437" thickness on bottom edge) with raised bead on top exterior edge (e.g., no internal metal hoop), clean original metal hardware, Grover "First Model" extension-type tailpiece, original Elton two-tab tuners on strings 1 through 4, original friction 5th string tuner, Catalin amber tuner buttons, small hole drilled through the center of peghead.
