1925 Gibson TB Granada Mastertone Tenor Banjo #8060-17
Price: $8,200.00 USD
This is a very early example of a Granada, from the second batch ever made. It is in very good condition, in rare unaltered condition with all original parts, original frets with little wear. The current head is a bottom frosted and it is currently setup for Irish tuning (GDAE). Includes original hardshell case.
This instrument spent the majority of its life in Sweden, here is some information from its previous owner’s family:
"The person who owned the instruments was called Gustaf Erik Lage Tapper and was born in 1910.
From what we understand, he was a musician and played both violin, accordion, banjo and guitar. Then, together with his friends Folke Fridström and Kåge, he formed a band that they called the Park Trio, which later seemed to be called the Park Orchestra with more members, the music style was probably mostly jazz as we understand it.
They seemed to play in all sorts of places, folk parks, parties and boats. Gustaf died in 1976 but lived most of his adult life in Fållan/Trångssund in southern Stockholm with his wife and son, who has since had the instruments in their possession along with some pictures."
