Ute 11" Premium Open-Back Banjo

Price: $899.00 USD

Hand-made in Colorado by famous Ome banjo luthier Chuck Ogsbury. The Ute is an excellent banjo designed for the beginner or intermediate player who has a good ear for quality and loves the inherent charm of a hand-built instrument, with rustic touches and charm that readily separate it from production models. This Ute 11" Premium features 26 brackets as compared to the standard 14, giving the banjo a tighter, crisper sound. Ideal banjo for old-time clawhammer players (though you can play Scruggs-style on it, too, of course).

Neck is mahogany. Fretboard is rosewood. Nut made of bone. Rim is maple. Spikes installed at 7 and 9. Frosted Remo head.

Comes with a Cockrum Studios bridge made of extremely old bog oak (pre-installed). Also includes a brand new TKL hard-shell carrying case. I'll include a Lakota Leathers buffalo-hide strap for an additional $50. (Otherwise, no strap included).
