Vintage Top Tension Crafters of Tennessee Banjo - 1977

This is a rare vintage instrument dating to the early days of Crafters of Tennessee. Master luthiers Tut and Mark Taylor are some of the most respected banjo builders in the last 50 years. This banjo is a top tension model enabling the player to quickly adjust head tension without removing the resonator.

It has some belt buckle marks and dings, showing its 50 year age, but plays nicely, and has a nice crisp sound. I recently put a better bridge on it, installed a new set of strings, and adjusted the head tension. The previous owner put a shim between the neck and resonator to drop the action, which is now very playable.

Comes in an older but fully functional hard shell case.
