SOLD Pending: Gibson Top Tension 1998/1999 possibly copy Style 18 but in Nickel
Price: $3,200.00 USD
Gibson Top Tension Banjo Style 18 Listing as a copy, nickel instead of gold plated, listing it as a copy and priced as a copy, but was told that it was special ordered in nickel and picked up in person from Bill Sullivan, who built for Gibson back then. New in 98. (Rim is shown 3-14-98) This banjo sounds great (what a hoss!) and plays great. Any questions, please ask. Blountville, Tennessee. I have also been told that the tone ring that Bill used was a Jim Stulls which is a very high quality tone ring. I purchased it, replaced the plastic nut with a bone nut, replaced the head with a Snuffy Smith head that came from Bill Emmerson's personal collection. Replaced the bridge with a Snuffy Smith pegged triple compensated compression bridge. These bridges are superb! I purchased it, fit everything together, gave it a good once over and ended up with exactly the tone and volume that I was looking for. Then found a gold Granada that I liked more lol, my loss your gain. Kris Rasnake was kind enough to do a few videos showing off the tone. (Thanks Kris) I do not want to trade. I want cash. (Already paid for my last banjo, now I'm in the hole lol) also comes with a black case excellent shape not original. The FON # is 129903-2
Shipping: Would have to price accordingly
