Gibson Earl Scruggs Standard banjo, 1989

Price: $4,950.00 USD

An incredible Greg Rich-era Gibson in excellent condition. Serial number 1560 dates it to the end of 1989. Beautiful curly maple, ebony fingerboard with virtually no fretwear. Not a single ding or dent. Original D tuners. Railroad spikes at the 7th and 10th. Very light patina, mostly to the armrest, but less than any other banjo I have seen from this era. The neck and peghead are mint, some checking to the resonator finish. Amazingly, the case doesn’t have a scratch on it. And this banjo is fully functional, has excellent action, and is a pleasure to play.
Fully insured shipping will likely run $200, but you are welcome to pick it up in person here in Nashville.
Happy to send more photos upon request.
