1923 Orpheum No. 1 Tenor
Price: $650.00 USD
A beautifully preserved tenor banjo from William Lange. She's in great shape for just turning 100! Everything is original except for the newer Remo head and Grover bridge, set up professionally by McCabe's in Santa Monica, CA. Features super solid birdseye maple construction and an archtop tone ring. The original nickel tuners hold well. Action is low and comfortable and the neck is dead straight. A few small dings on the rim but the wood throughout looks immaculate.Though it doesn't have a resonator it's a wide pot (12") with big volume and deep bass response. Great for Irish music! Currently has Irish tenor strings on it but I didn't file the nut or bridge so would be easy to throw a lighter set on there.Besides being a really fun instrument, it's an amazing piece of American craftsmanship. Comes with a solid cardboard case in good shape. Contact me with any further questions!
