TRADE PENDING: 2000 Stelling Custom Staghorn w/video

Up for sale is a maple 2000 Stelling Staghorn in excellent condition. I purchased off the original owner a few years back — it had spent most of its life safely tucked away in the case prior.

It’s a stunning instrument, with the metalwork factory finished in black smoked chrome and gold. Pictures do not do it justice — though I will try to add some in the coming days that better show it off. It’s tough to photograph, appears similar to nickel, but in person it it sharp!

One or two very minor depressions on the resonator; otherwise the wood is near perfect. The metalwork is in excellent condition as well — only one or two of the gold hooks have a bit of plating wear. MOP truss rod cover is missing in the pics, but i do have it and will be sure to button it back up for the sale.

Currently setup with .656 Purcell “countertop” bridge and 10-12-14-22-10 strings. Huber head. Action is comfortable and easy playing. Plenty of volume… here’s a quick YouTube clip: youtu.be/Om2drXYYfLo?si=fDMBGOimlS03IUf8

The banjo is so pretty… I never bring it out, and rarely play it. I’m not a collector, and there’s some things around the house that need a-fixin… so time to move it along, I guess. I would consider a trade for a walnut stelling plus 3k or so… maybe… but otherwise, looking to sell outright.
