Early 1920s Washburn 1739 tenor

Price: $400.00 USD

Up for sale is a Washburn 1739 tenor banjo. This model isn't in the Washburn book, and is the only example of its kind I have been able to find. It appears to come from the Lange factory - right down to the Orpheum-style tone ring, which sits on ball bearings instead of a stretcher band. It has a short 21" scale walnut neck with an ebonized fretboard, a 10¾" maple rim, and an old Rogers head which I presume is original. It comes with a modern bridge but also the original, which is a shade too short for the current neck angle. The neck is straight and plays well all the way up. The whole banjo is quite clean for its age and comes with a modern hard case.
