W. S. Mabbett 1890’s Open Back

Price: $600.00 USD

Plays and sounds great. 1890’s is an educated guess. Dowel stick is stamped “W. S. Mabbett”. Googled that name. Couldn’t find anything. Dobson style heel. Spun over 12” rim has 40 hooks! New Renaissance head. Walnut neck is straight, nice action. Unusual inlays. Some are real mother of pearl, some are wood, some look like ivoroid. Scale is 26.75 inches. Nice finish on the neck, no wear or peeling. I have it strung with Aquila Nylgut strings, for an old time sound. Vintage friction tuners with new buttons. New tailpiece and bridge. Comes with a new hard case. Case is deep for an open back, so I added a foam pad under the pot. USA BUYERS ONLY.
