Early Cole Eclipse Man-in-the-moon banjo
Price: $2,300.00 USD
This is an early Cole Eclipse (serial# 1522) man-in-the-moon banjo. I believe it is 1893 or earlier based on the Pat Appl'd For stamp on the dowel stick and its serial#. Will Mosheim of Seeders banjos did the restoration work replacing the peg head overlay and a few inlays. He installed peghed tuners and a calf skin head. It has a deep V shaped 26 1/4" scale neck, 1 1/4" nut, and an 11 3/8" head. There are a few dings and nicks but nothing that affects playing. I included a few pictures of the inlays in a previous BHO discussion about Consalvi engraving early Cole banjos and Jim Bollman felt that the engravings on this banjo were Consavli's work given their quality and time period.
