Fitch Masters Five Banjo
Price: $1,600.00 USD
Cliff Fitch built this banjo’s fine Masters Five mahogany neck. Cliff makes some of the best playing necks in the business. It was assembled about 2006 and is built with all top notch components. The banjo features a Cox three-ply maple rim and a Huber Vintage tone ring. All the remaining pot hardware was made by Jaroslav Prucha. As with all Prucha parts, the flange, tension hoop, coordinator rods, Presto style tailpiece and tension hooks are very high quality with deep, rich nickel plating. Robin Smith made the beautifully finished, double bound mahogany resonator. The banjo has Gotoh tuning machines with aged-toned ivoroid buttons, a geared fifth string peg and a 5/8 inch Snuffy Smith bridge (an old, original one). Spikes have been installed at frets 7, 8 and 9. It will be shipped in the good hard shell case pictured.
The banjo is in excellent shape and has no significant scratches or finish damage. The rim has a small separation as shown in the photos. This does not affect the playability or sound. The Cliff Fitch neck is really a treat. The action is low and the instrument sounds great. It was used professionally on stage and in the studio by a previous owner. The only reason I would think about selling it is a case of Gibson fever. I bought a pre-war Gibson conversion and need to get this wonderful instrument to another picker that will enjoy it as much as I have. I guarantee you will love this banjo. I will consider offers on this banjo. More photos on request.
